Third pediatric surgeon a necessity at high volume Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital, according to Baptist leadership

MEMPHIS, Tenn., - Dr. Adrianne Myers-Webb recently joined Baptist Medical Group-Pediatric General Surgery, an affiliate of Baptist Memorial Health Care, as the hospital system’s third pediatric general general surgeon.

Myers-Webb joins pediatric surgeons Dr. Fawn Lewis and Dr. John Sandoval, who came on board in June 2014 and August 2015 respectively. Lewis was the first pediatric surgeon hired in the Baptist system in anticipation of the opening of the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital, which opened its 10-bed emergency department in late January 2015.

“We are thrilled to add Dr. Myers-Webb to our robust roster of pediatric specialists,” said Kevin Hammeran, administrator and CEO of Baptist Children’s Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women. “Baptist Children’s Hospital is steadily becoming a strong and viable option for pediatric care, and we must have the services to support those patients.”

She will perform a variety of surgeries for patients throughout the metro and regional area, including those patients who come from Baptist’s other 15 affiliate hospitals in various parts of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. Myers will also perform scheduled outpatient and inpatient procedures for neonates, children and adolescents.

A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Myers-Webb graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed her internship and general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee. Myers-Webb concluded three fellowships: a research fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a pediatric colorectal surgery clinical fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and a pediatric surgery fellowship at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
